NDC youth organizer fatally stabbed, wife in custody

The community has been shocked by the tragic loss of Osei Akoto, a 40-year-old teacher who was also the National Democratic Congress (NDC) branch youth organizer in the Asante Mampong Constituency.

His wife, Abigail, has been taken into custody by police on suspicion of killing him with a knife after a heated argument in their suburb of Kofi Sarpong.

Residents were shocked when Akoto passed away from his injuries not long after getting to the hospital. Neighbors reported that both of them had a history of regular fights, with a particularly furious fight taking place the night of the stabbing.

Abigail is being held by the police as a suspect in the case in order to assist with the investigation. To collect evidence, crime scene investigators are carefully inspecting the scene.

The NDC’s representative for the Asante Mampong Constituency, Hudu Mumuni Yahaya, confirmed the sad event, expressed sympathy, and acknowledged Akoto’s significant contributions to the party’s local activities.

The deceased, who left behind three children, has been taken to the morgue for preservation and autopsy. The community waits for more breakthroughs in the investigation while it laments the passing of a committed member.
