Junior Pope: AGN lift ban on movie producer, Luke Adanma, approve riverine filming

Luke Adanma,  movie producer, has now been allowed to resume her filmmaking after AGN overturned the ban imposed on her because of her catastrophic film "The Other Side of Life," which resulted in the deaths of four other people including Nollywood star John Paul Odonwodo, also known as Junior Pope, during filming.

Recall that on April 11th, Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) National President Emeka Rollas declared that, until further notice, no actor would be permitted to collaborate as a producer with Luke Adanma. The film producer has been on suspension ever since, and it ends today, August 3, 2024.

Abubakar Yakubu, the National Secretary of the African Grain Organization (AGN), declared today that both the producer’s suspension and the prohibition against filming in riverine areas had been revoked. The National Executive Council meeting of the guild was where these choices were decided.

The announcement was made in the following statement:

“The National President of the Guild, Dr. Ejezie Emeka Rollas, MON, use this opportunity to announce the lifting of the suspension placed on Adanma Luke, producer of the movie ‘Another Side of Life,’ where star actor Junior Pope and four other crew members lost their lives in Anam river.

The President also lifted the ban on filming in riverine areas but cautioned members to apply all safety standard measures recommended in the AGN Bylaws.
