Hans Kwofie: Ghanaian striker perishes in tragic vehicle accident

Tragically, Hans Kwofie, a football player from Ghana, passed away following a fatal vehicle accident.

According to reports, the 35-year-old passed quite suddenly on Friday, June 21, 2024, when his car collided near Dadwen in the Ashanti Region.

According to reports, Kwofie was traveling to Dompim Pepesa, his hometown, when the regrettable tragedy occurred.

In the Ghana Premier League, Kwofie was a household name after playing for Ashanti Gold, Heart of Lions, Medeama SC, and Bechem United.

In 2023, he signed contracts with Ghanaian teams Legon Cities and Aduana Stars before moving to Nepal to play for Birgunj United FC.

Kwofie is well-remembered for becoming the Ghana Premier League’s top scorer in the 2017–18 campaign, having netted 17 goals for Ashanti Gold.

As soon as it was revealed that the former Legon Cities striker had passed away, condolences began to stream in from all corners.

“He was the league’s top scorer in 2017/18. An entertaining poacher, Kwofie played for Medeama, AshGold, Legon Cities and clubs outside the country. Rest well, H.”

Joy Sports’ Fentuo Tahiru also posted: “Really unfortunate! Rest well. Former Ghana Premier League top scorer Hans Kwofie dies in a car accident.”

During his peak, the deceased was a regular member of the home-based national team, although he never having the opportunity to play for the Black Stars.
