Efia Odo apologises to Stonebwoy for derogatory comments during 2024 TGMA

Users of social media may recall that in May of 2024, amid intense discussions on social media regarding the rightful recipient of the coveted TGMA Artiste of the Year Award, King Promise’s ardent ally Efia Odo referred to Stonebwoy as “old” and proposed that he give the honor to younger performers such as King Promise, who she felt were more deserving of it given their recent accolades.

“In the moment, for me, when I’m a fan of someone, I go hard for the person. What I said to Stonebwoy, calling him an old man and all that was wrong. I admit it,” she told MzGee, host of the show.

She recognised Stonebwoy’s significant contributions to the music industry, ranking him among the top artistes in Ghana.

Efia Odo continued, saying she thought Stonebwoy should go for worldwide honors like the Grammys and should be recognized for more than just the Ghana Music Awards.

“What I wanted to really say is that I see you to be bigger than Ghana Music Awards. I see you to be bigger than the platforms they’re giving you, she explained.

Efia Odo accepted full responsibility for her conduct and expressed regret for allowing her feelings to overpower her when she stood up for King Promise.
