This warning was given by Nana Osei Bonsu, the Tufuhene of Nyakrom, during an address to the chiefs and people following a seven-hour cleanup effort to get the town ready for the celebration that takes place over the course of a week. Queen moms, divisional chiefs, and representatives from both Asafo firms participated in the cleanup work, which was aided by Mr. Christian Ocran, Zoomlion’s Agona West Municipal Director, and his staff.

The festival’s goal, as highlighted by Nana Osei Bonsu, is to increase tourism and cultural awareness, which could help local businesses. He said there would be a fundraising event at the festival’s culmination on Saturday, August 10, to help build male and female wards at the Nyakrom Health Center.

The chairman of the planning committee emphasized the necessity for high-quality healthcare services and emphasized the need of contributions from Nyakrom residents, both domestically and internationally, to support the healthcare project. He made it clear that the festival offers a chance for introspection and growth in addition to being just for fun. Dispelling any misunderstandings regarding idol worship, he urged Christians and other religious groups to take part in the celebrations.

To stop cholera outbreaks, Okofo Katakyi Nyakoh Eku X, Omanhene of the Agona Nyakrom Traditional Area, asked locals to avoid throwing trash into gutters and unauthorized locations. In order to enhance healthcare services in the area, he also reiterated the need for community cooperation in finishing the new hospital wards.

The residents of the Agona Nyakrom Traditional Area in the Central Region celebrate the Akwambo Festival every year. The celebration, which translates to “path-clearing,” is observed with a variety of events, such as group clean-ups, traditional drumming and dancing, and exhibits of the locals’ cultural history.

It offers a chance for the community to meet together, consider the previous year, and create goals for future growth. In addition, the event has religious and cultural rituals that honor the ancestors and ask for favors for the upcoming year. It also provides a venue for enhancing local businesses and tourism, making it a noteworthy event on the calendar for the area.
