Afua Asantewaa Aduonum’s 105-hour sing-a-thon breaks the Guinness World Record.

Afua Asantewaa Aduonum made it her aim to do her best to break the record for the longest singing marathon by an individual on December 24–27, 2023.

Ghanaians reacted differently to this news, with many questioning why she had chosen to do what she did. But, as they say, one’s imagination becomes reality.

Ghana is pleased to announce to the world that Afua Asantewaa Aduonum has broken Sunil’s 105-record. Afua had several difficulties with the task she undertook, including her vocal cracks and GHAMRO’s verification of her songs.

On top of it, she received a lot of backlash on social media from people making fun of her. Other people doubted her endurance and skills as well, but she disregarded their critiques.

She was bound to several rules during the sing-a-thon, including being unable to repeat a song until after 4 hours, the rule against receiving visitors in her glass cage, and a condition that she could only take a 20-minute break after 4 hours of nonstop singing but only a 5-minute break after an hour.

She continued to complete the task at hand in spite of breaking a few rules.
